Domain Registration
Domain being the term used for your virtual address on the Internet, associated with Web Sites and E-Mail addresses. Eg http://www.rwsman.com (rwsman.com is the domain name) Everyone who wishes to have a presence on the Internet has to apply for and then register a name. Then this name / ownership is renewed annually. (Typical cost between £5 to £30) regardless of supplier!

Web Space / Server Rental
This is the computer storage area where your files are kept and accessed by users of the Internet to view. Or the area where you administer your site. Annual fees of around £150, regardless of supplier.

Site Creation
Because you are viewing this page, you are accessing the RWS Site Services web site. A web site needs to be designed, in a similar way to a newspaper, with pages and pictures. In addition it needs links to enable you to click the mouse, to move to the next page. Most web pages use a special format, this enables your browser to view them as you intended.
Costs for web site creation run from a few pounds to many thousands, depending on consultancy required, in house skills and the complexity of the site.
The site you are on would cost around £200 from RWS Site Services. Assuming of course that you supplied the text and the photographs! You would then have a working site, ready to Publish and administer on your web site.

Site Publishing & Maintenance
Information or your web site needs to be transferred to your server, often referred to as ‘being published’. This is when you first move your newly designed site for viewing by Internet users.
Information changes, web sites change and the fees for administering sites varies, depending on amount of change and frequency. RWS Site Services charges a monthly fee starting from £25 per month and would cover changes to contact names, editing text and refreshing photographs.
